Flushing Spring Family Day Promises Community Health Resources, Fun Activities for All

FLUSHING, NY, March 20, 2024 — The Charles B. Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC), in partnership with Garden of Hope and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, will host Flushing Spring Family Day on Friday, March 29, from 11 am – 3 pm at Kissena Corridor Park (at the corner of Colden Street and 45th Avenue).

Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, New York State Senator John Liu, New York State Assemblywoman Nily Rozicand New York City Councilmember Sandra Ung are co-sponsoring the event.

Spring Family Day is a chance to learn about ways to stay healthy while enjoying a day in the park.”

This year, the Spring Family Day will include social services and health insurance resources, free Hepatitis B screening, activities for kids, music, and performances, anti-hate safety resources, and IDNYC application and renewal assistance.”

“April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month,” says Kristen Chi, Executive Director of Garden of Hope. “As an organization dedicated to serving and empowering people affected by violence as well as promoting overall family well-being, Garden of Hope provides linguistically and culturally responsive social services to those who need it the most. When we care for the most vulnerable among us, our community as a whole will be safer, healthier, and stronger. We will have over 30 youth volunteers helping out at the event. Join us for fun activities for the whole family and receive useful social services resources.”
