At the Los Angeles premiere of Gladiator 2, Scott has confirmed that a third movie is indeed in development. “Given the performance in the rest of the world that we’ve seen yesterday, there’s certainly going to be a Gladiator III. Because it also becomes financial, and you’d be insane not to consider a third version,” he said.

Gladiator 3 could be coming to theatres in the next few years. The cast of Gladiator 3 is yet to be confirmed. Still, there are strong indications about who might return and what fresh faces could be expected in the franchise. Without spoiling the second movie, we can speculate that the characters that did not die, will be reprised by the original actors in the third movie.

Assuming a similar shooting schedule as Gladiator 2, which began filming in June 2023 and ended by January 2024, Gladiator 3 could be on a similar timeline as well. The possible release date could be as early as 2026 or 2027.
