The curtain rises on the 38th FOBANA conference on August 30

The 3-day-long conference of 'Fobana' is starting from Friday, August 30, with the conviction of strengthening the bridge between Bangladeshi-Americans and the mainstream politics of America, besides highlighting the glory of Bangladesh's history-tradition, art-culture to the next generation of Bangladeshi immigrants in North America.

The Bangladesh Association of Greater Washington DC (BAGDC), a socio-cultural organization based in Greater Washington DC, organized the conference at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Virginia, near Washington DC.

This year's conference will highlight the golden jubilee of independence and the art, culture, culture and heritage of Bangladesh to the next generation. The theme of this year's Fobana Conference is "Bangladesh in Consciousness".

Regarding the special features of this year's conference, Artoni Alamgir, the chairman of the conference, said that the special feature of this event is to try to highlight the efforts to build a smart Bangladesh through FOBANA and for that purpose, we have held a youth forum to bring together the young generation across America. The overarching goal of this forum is to bring together young people from across America to engage with mainstream politicians so that they, too, are interested in mainstream politics.

Fobana leaders said that in various stages of the conference, competition, honoring of freedom fighters, support for Bangladesh's independence war and contribution to fund collection in the United States, tributes to the death of defenders George Harrison, Joan Baez and India's Ravi Shankar and Lata Mangeskar, tributes to legendary singers of Bangladesh, empowerment of women and There will be multi-faceted events including discussion on various topics including immigration, book fair, Fobana short film show, poetry jalsa, youth talent recognition and scholarship, fashion show, science fair for children and dance competition etc. They sought the full cooperation of all expatriate Bangladeshis in the Washington Metro DC area to make this conference a success.

About 80 socio-cultural organizations from different states and Canada are participating in this year's conference.
