I am proud to have elected Justice Cassandra Johnson—Attorney Moin Chowdhury.

Cassandra Johnson, a Black American, was sworn in as the first female justice of the Queens County Surrogate Court. The swearing-in ceremony was completed on Friday, January 17, at the St. John's University Law School Auditorium. The ceremony was conducted by Master of Ceremonies Dr. Stacy Ng Grant.

Among the guests on the stage at the ceremony were Congressman Gregory Meeks, Attorney General Letitia James, Congresswoman Grace Meng, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Senator Lee Roy Comrie, and Assemblywoman Vivian E. Cook.

Attorney Moin Chowdhury, Director of the American International Bar Association. Chief Administrative Judge Joseph A. Queens County Catholic Lawyers Guild President Peter J. Kelly was present during the swearing-in ceremony.

Newly elected Justice Cassandra Johnson thanked the 25 judges, elected representatives, Democratic Party district leaders, honored guests, community figures, and all the spectators present in the audience and sought everyone's cooperation in fulfilling this important responsibility.

A special guest of the event, Attorney Moin Chowdhury, actively participated in Justice Cassandra Johnson's party nomination and election campaign. Moin Chowdhury said in his speech, "I am proud to have elected Justice Cassandra Johnson." He thanked Justice Cassandra Johnson for participating in various programs for the immigrant community. Everyone is happy to have an immigrant-friendly justice in Queens County, known as the World Borough. Attorney Moin Chowdhury thanked the diaspora community from all walks of life for participating in Justice Cassandra's election campaign.
